The Central Bank of Oman’s Board of Directors adopted a policy governing the classification and licensing of banks and representative offices of foreign banks in Oman. The policy is intended to strengthen the banking regulatory framework and align classification and licensing procedures with applicable requirements and standards. The board also adopted an emergency policy and framework, including related measures and procedures. The board approved the Central Bank of Oman’s financial position for the second quarter of 2026 and the College of Banking and Financial Studies’ budget for the 2026/2027 academic year. It also authorized commemorative coins marking Omani Women’s Day, human civilizations and prominent Omani figures.
