The Financial Market Commission (CMF) has expanded its 2026 Civil Society Council (CSC), approving the incorporation of Conecta Mayor UC at the Council’s first meeting of the year through Exempt Resolution No. 3,948. The CSC is chaired by CMF Chairwoman Catherine Tornel. Established under Law No. 20,500 on Citizen Participation in Public Administration, the CSC is an autonomous advisory body made up of trade union representatives, non-governmental organizations, academics, and CMF members. It meets at least five times a year, in person or remotely, and addresses issues linked to CMF work including regulatory initiatives, financial education, market development and financial inclusion; the Council’s current members include ChileMujeres, the Organization of Consumers and Users, the University of Chile, the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Adolfo Ibáñez University, the University of Concepción, the Emprender Foundation and Conecta Mayor UC, which promotes senior citizens’ social integration and digital inclusion. Chairwoman Tornel underscored the Council’s role in bringing stakeholder perspectives into CMF decision-making.

The Chile Financial Market Commission has expanded its 2026 Civil Society Council by incorporating Conecta Mayor UC through Exempt Resolution No. 3,948 at the Council’s first meeting of the year. The autonomous advisory body, chaired by CMF Chairwoman Catherine Tornel, brings together unions, non-governmental organizations, academics and CMF members to provide stakeholder input on regulatory initiatives, financial education, market development and financial inclusion.
