The Italian Institute for Insurance Supervision has ordered the blocking of five websites that were offering insurance services without authorization: bravassicurazioni.it, studioassicurativosamele.com, prev.studioassicurativosamele.com, veloceassicurazioni.it and assi.polizzeistantanee.eu. Blocking is being carried out by providers operating in Italy and, for technical reasons, may take several days to take effect. The measure brings the number of abusive websites blocked by IVASS since the start of its blocking powers in November 2023 to 367. IVASS also warned consumers to be cautious of policy offers made through instant messaging services such as WhatsApp or text message, requests for payment via prepaid credit cards, and websites that do not appear on the official lists of insurance intermediaries and insurance undertakings supervised by IVASS.
