The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority has appointed Gloria Glidden as Chief Supervision Officer, Investments & Innovation, and Shakira Cox as Acting Head of Banking Supervision, effective Oct. 1, 2026. The appointments divide senior supervisory oversight between investment and innovation activities and traditional financial services, while placing all registration and licensing applications under a newly established Authorisations Division. Glidden will oversee the Investments Supervision, Securities Supervision, VASP & Fintech Innovation and Authorisations divisions. She will work alongside Anna McLean, Chief Supervision Officer, Traditional Financial Services, whose remit will cover banking, fiduciary and insurance supervision and onsite inspections. Cox, Banking Supervision deputy head since 2017, will assume acting leadership of that division. The changes continue a phased restructuring that began with revisions to executive roles in October 2024 and has since included changes across legal, enforcement and anti-money laundering functions. Further updates will follow as the transition progresses.
