The Hong Kong Insurance Authority welcomed the government’s reappointment of Clement Cheung as its chief executive officer for a three-year term from Aug. 15, 2026, to Aug. 14, 2029. The appointment was approved by Hong Kong’s chief executive under the Insurance Ordinance. Cheung, who was first appointed in August 2018, has overseen the implementation and refinement of the Risk-based Capital Regime, development of the insurance-linked securities and captive insurance markets, formation of a marine specialty risks pool and enhanced regulation of participating policies.
