The Bank for International Settlements has invited member central banks to nominate research economists for its Central Bank Research Fellowship Programme. Fellows collaborate with BIS economists on research of strategic importance to central banks, with priority themes covering financial intermediation and innovation, global economic spillovers, and post-crisis monetary and financial stability frameworks. Candidates will be selected based on the policy relevance of their proposal, research record and potential for collaboration with BIS economists. Selected fellows may spend up to three months in Basel, Hong Kong SAR or Mexico City. They remain salaried by their home institution, while the BIS provides a monthly stipend and covers accommodation and travel costs. Nominations are coordinated by each central bank’s head of research or equivalent senior official and close annually on March 31.
