The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic announced it will run its 2025 Economic and Financial Week (#sefBCRD) from 17 to 21 March as part of its Aula Central economic and financial education programme and the international Global Money Week initiative. The event is aimed at students from first grade of primary school through the final year of secondary school, focusing on building knowledge and behaviours to support financial decision-making. The programme features talks, workshops, conferences, activities and games covering topics such as saving, spending control, appropriate use of credit cards, and basic concepts related to the Dominican Republic’s financial institutions, fiscal authorities and securities market. Participation is confirmed from 51 public and private institutions, spanning banks and financial associations as well as supervisory and public-sector bodies including the Superintendencies of Banks, Pensions and the Securities Market and several ministries; the Dominican Republic Stock Exchange and VISA are also among participants. Alongside the central venue at the BCRD and its regional office in Santiago de los Caballeros, the 2025 edition adds a first-time extension to the south of the country, hosted at the Centro Cultural Perelló in Baní (Peravia province) on 19 March.
