The Republic of Serbia Securities Commission reported that its chairman and the chief inspector responsible for oversight of audit firms and licensed authorised auditors participated in the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) annual plenary meeting in Berlin from 7 to 10 April 2025, in the context of the Commission’s ongoing process to become a full IFIAR member. The delegation presented the Commission’s activities and competences, with a focus on public oversight of the audit profession. The delegation met the newly appointed IFIAR Chair and the outgoing Chair, and exchanged experiences with peer audit oversight regulators on current topics and challenges in audit oversight. The Commission framed the engagement as supporting international cooperation and the harmonisation of regulatory practices in line with international standards and recommendations.
