The National Bank of Moldova announced it will host a high-level dialogue workshop in Chisinau on 30 October 2025 titled “Finance and economic growth: Lessons for the European path of the Republic of Moldova”. The event is framed as a strategic platform for senior national and EU officials, international financial institutions and economic experts to discuss financial and economic priorities linked to Moldova’s EU accession process. The programme includes aligning the financial sector with European standards and strengthening the prudential supervisory framework, alongside modernising agriculture and rural finance through innovative instruments, energy security and sustainable investment for the green transition, SME competitiveness and innovation, and capital market integration and the digital transformation of the economy. A keynote address will be delivered by Maria Luís Albuquerque, European Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, on the role of financial markets in supporting growth and Moldova’s EU integration. The release also reiterates the central bank’s role in reforms covering financial services, free movement of capital and monetary policy, including work on payments infrastructure modernisation and steps related to Moldova’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area.
