The Union of Arab Securities Authorities (UASA), in cooperation with Syria’s Syrian Commission on Financial Markets and Securities (SCFMS), held a three-day training programme in Damascus on recent trends in governance, risk and compliance. The programme, run from 30 June to 2 July at the Cham Hotel, covered effective responses to developments and challenges in financial risk, governance and compliance for financial institutions. Content included the Institute of Internal Auditors’ revised Three Lines of Defense model, related Bank for International Settlements guidance, and best practices for digital transformation and cyber risk, followed by a discussion session and Q&A.
