The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting with senior management and representatives of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan to discuss and explain the President of Tajikistan’s address to parliament, with a focus on priorities relevant to the banking system. The address was presented as setting specific tasks for banks, including increasing the share of cashless payments, making more effective use of payment infrastructure, introducing cashless payment systems at trade and service outlets, attracting foreign investment, increasing deposits, expanding lending to priority sectors including manufacturing entrepreneurship, and improving the mortgage lending market. The meeting also heard the 2025 activity report of the bank’s primary party organisation “Iftikhori millat”, which reported a membership increase of up to 50% compared with previous years, and approved its 2026 work plan. The bank’s chair and two deputy chairs received anniversary medals from the party, a number of staff were recognised with certificates, and 10 bank employees joined the party in connection with the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence.
