The Central Bank of Estonia published its monthly flash estimate of the balance of payments for the last month but one and confirmed it will publish the balance of payments for the first quarter of 2025 on 11 June 2025. The bank explained that the quarterly balance of payments is compiled from a combined system of representative primary data sources, including company surveys, while the monthly estimate is based on a considerably smaller database using available information for the month, including administrative sources and international payments reports. Because the monthly compilation is partly subjective, it is published as an estimate and is revised once the quarterly balance of payments is released; statistical releases are presented separately from economic policy releases. Once the quarterly balance of payments is published, the monthly balance of payments figures are adjusted accordingly.
