Georgia's Ministry of Finance announced that an International Monetary Fund mission has started work in Georgia under the Article IV consultation framework, with a focus on assessing the macroeconomic environment and the direction of fiscal and monetary policies. The mission, led by Alejandro Hajdenberg, met Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili to review IMF cooperation, discuss current macroeconomic indicators and medium-term economic forecasts, and take stock of the previous year’s strong growth trends. The meeting also highlighted the refinancing of Eurobonds in 2026 and international investor participation, with deputy finance ministers and senior officials responsible for public debt management and fiscal risk management in attendance.
