The Sustainable Banking and Finance Network has admitted the Banks Association of Peru, known as ASBANC, as its newest member. The addition expands SBFN to 104 member institutions across 74 countries and brings into the network Peru's national banking association for private banks and financial institutions. SBFN highlighted ASBANC's role in sustainability and financial inclusion initiatives in Peru. ASBANC became a signatory to the Green Protocol in 2020, a voluntary agreement to integrate environmental, social, and governance criteria into financial decision-making, including risk management, portfolio greening, and operational eco-efficiency. It has also created a public Sustainable Finance Repository and leads the National System of Accounts for Financial Inclusion, an industry-led framework and public data platform that tracks financial inclusion outcomes in Peru.
