The Central Bank of Seychelles announced that President Patrick Herminie has appointed Sarah Lloyd as governor under the Central Bank of Seychelles Act. Her appointment takes effect Nov. 1, 2026, when she will also become an executive member and chairperson of the central bank’s board of directors. Lloyd succeeds Caroline Abel, who resigned in September 2026. Lloyd began her nearly 20-year financial sector career at the central bank in 2007 and later established and managed its Financial Stability Unit as a senior financial stability analyst. She subsequently served as chief risk officer at Absa Bank Seychelles and currently holds the same position at Absa Bank Zambia.

Sarah Lloyd has been appointed governor of the Central Bank of Seychelles effective Nov. 1, 2026, and will chair its board of directors. A former central bank economist and financial stability analyst, she succeeds Caroline Abel following her resignation in September.
