The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic announced it will hold its 12th Semana Económica y Financiera 2026 (#sefBCRD) from 16 to 20 March, a nationwide programme of economic and financial education activities for children and young people as part of its Aula Central initiative and aligned with Global Money Week. The event is aimed at students from 1st grade of primary school to 6th grade of secondary school and will run across Santo Domingo, Santiago and Baní. For the first time, activities will take place not only at the Central Bank’s main venue but also at Centro León in Santiago (17 to 20 March, with an opening session on 16 March at the Central Bank’s Santiago regional office), alongside a second edition of the southern extension in Baní at Centro Cultural Perelló (18 to 19 March). The programme comprises 170 sessions, including talks, workshops and interactive activities on saving, managing spending, responsible credit card use and core concepts related to the country’s public and private financial institutions, fiscal authorities and securities market, with participation confirmed from 55 public and private institutions.
