Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency (SIPEN) held a series of educational talks for Casa Brugal employees nationwide to strengthen understanding of the Dominican pension system and help workers manage their retirement planning. The sessions were delivered in both in-person and virtual formats across Casa Brugal sites in Puerto Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, the National District, Santiago and Haina. SIPEN officials covered core operational aspects of the system, including that workers entering formal employment with payroll deductions are automatically enrolled with a pension fund administrator (AFP) if they do not choose one, and that switching AFP is a free right that requires completing a form from the current AFP and submitting it to the receiving AFP with only the national ID. Casa Brugal’s participation positions it to receive SIPEN’s “Here We Know About Pensions” seal, which recognises institutions that promote pension education among their employees.
