The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) announced that its Governor, Natia Turnava, met with Visa’s Regional President for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Tareq Muhmood, to discuss developments in the payments market, NBG reforms already implemented and planned, and opportunities to deepen cooperation with Visa. Discussions focused on payment system development, innovative projects, consumer protection mechanisms, and operational security. The NBG described ongoing cooperation with Visa as covering financial education initiatives, information exchange, payments infrastructure development, and the adoption of new technologies. Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue working together on payment system development, innovative services, and enhanced operational security.
