The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India to enable regular data and information sharing aimed at combating fraud in the securities market. The arrangement leverages DoT’s Digital Intelligence Platform, a secure system for real-time intelligence sharing and coordination among stakeholders to support proactive action against the misuse of telecom resources linked to cybercrime and financial fraud. The MoU was signed by Sanjeev Sharma, Deputy Director General (AI&DIU), DoT and Sandip Pradhan, Whole Time Member, SEBI. The MoU takes effect from the signing date.
