The Central Bank of the Philippines, through its Legazpi Branch, is servicing the cash requirements of banks operating in Masbate and coordinating with supervised financial institutions to sustain the availability of banking services in the province following Typhoon Opong. Banks have been informed that the central bank can accommodate emergency withdrawals if needed. While some banks have yet to resume operations, the public can continue to access financial services through alternative channels, including cash-out services provided by money service businesses. The BSP will continue monitoring the situation to meet cash and banking services needs in the area.
