The National Bank of Moldova published remarks by Governor Anca Dragu highlighting the role of women in Moldova’s and the global financial and entrepreneurial ecosystem, delivered during the Romania–Moldova Economic Forum in Chisinau. Dragu moderated the “FinanciarELE” panel, bringing together leaders from Moldova and Romania to discuss the economic impact of female leadership and gender diversity in decision-making. The discussion covered durable public–private–civil society partnerships, support for women entrepreneurs, removing stereotypes, improving access to finance, and identifying barriers and opportunities in entrepreneurship, with participation including representatives from the European Women’s Business Patronage, Moldova’s banking sector, and the International Finance Corporation. The release also referenced “FinanciarELE – the female leadership community” as a National Bank of Moldova project focused on developing women’s financial and leadership skills through education, mentoring and professional support, and promoting gender equality in the financial sector and women’s participation in the economy.
