The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) reviewed its regulatory initiatives for tokenization and capital markets-based real estate financing in remarks by Chair Roberto Silva and Vice Chair Sonia Salvatierra at an industry congress. The officials focused on the recently expanded regime for tokenizing securities, the extension of its regulatory sandbox and broader deregulation and simplification measures intended to reduce barriers to market access while maintaining investor protection requirements. Silva identified publicly offered financial trusts as a vehicle for securitizing mortgage loan portfolios and cited the first placement of an investment fund dedicated to mortgage lending and the first REIT mutual fund. Salvatierra emphasized that tokenized assets can provide a more efficient way to represent securities without removing regulatory requirements on transparency, market integrity and investor protection.
