The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) published its planned programme of financial education activities for Global Money Week 2025, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) campaign running from 17 to 23 March 2025. The initiative is centred on the opportunities, challenges and risks facing young people in the digital financial environment. Planned actions include a lecture by the CySEC Chair at the University of Limassol on 17 March 2025, speeches and presentations by CySEC officials in schools, and the distribution of educational materials to schools in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth. CySEC will also create a dedicated section on its financial education portal for educators, publish articles, interviews and educational guides through the media, run social media awareness campaigns aimed at young audiences, and develop an online quiz on digital traps and scams to be published on its Financial Education Portal. Separately, within the Cyprus Committee for Financial Literacy and Education (CyFLEC), CySEC participated in an international conference held on 13 March 2025 and hosted a stakeholder workshop, alongside circulating two educational guides prepared for educators and students. Activities linked to Global Money Week are scheduled across 17 to 23 March 2025, with portal materials and the digital scam awareness quiz to be made available through CySEC’s website.
