The Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers co-hosted the 2025 Green Fintech Symposium and announced the results of the 2025 Green Fintech Competition, highlighting recent developments in green fintech and showcasing winning solutions. The Symposium drew nearly 500 in-person and online participants from banks, investment firms, corporates, technology firms, regulatory authorities and academia, and covered topics including the use of artificial intelligence and big data in green fintech, innovation for Asia’s low-carbon transition, and commercialisation of green fintech solutions. The Competition received over 140 entries from 26 jurisdictions, representing more than a 60% increase compared with the inaugural 2023 event, with winners across five themes presenting their solutions and networking with the local green and sustainable finance ecosystem; the Symposium and Competition were supported by the Institute of Sustainability and Technology, Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and Invest Hong Kong.
