The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission has set up a coordination center to collect information on those who died in the fire at a brewery in Bangkok's Lat Phrao area and to help injured victims and the heirs of those who died check their insurance entitlements. It also deployed officials to the site to monitor the situation, verify facts and coordinate with relevant agencies. Using the Insurance Bureau System, the office is reviewing whether the affected individuals held relevant policies and is working with insurers to confirm coverage and process claims under policy terms. A preliminary insurance check found that the venue had a fire insurance policy with total insured value of THB 40 million, in force from March 18, 2026 to March 18, 2027. The policy covers the building, building improvements, furniture, permanent fixtures, electrical appliances and stock, and loss assessment is underway. The office is also coordinating with insurers to determine whether those who died or were injured had other coverage, including life, personal accident or health insurance, so that all payable benefits can be identified. The office said it will continue coordinating insurance assistance for victims and heirs until the process is completed.
