The Hellenic Capital Market Commission announced that its President, Vassiliki Lazarakou, has been re-elected as a Bureau member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Corporate Governance Committee for 2026. The Corporate Governance Committee oversees the implementation of the OECD/G20 Principles of Corporate Governance and the OECD guidelines on the governance of state-owned enterprises, and supports dialogue with non-member economies on corporate governance, corporate finance and state-owned enterprises. In comments accompanying the announcement, Lazarakou noted the Committee’s recent work on promoting and implementing the OECD’s Revised Principles of Corporate Governance adopted by the G20 in 2023, and said the Hellenic Capital Market Commission has presented changes to the Principles in Greece and explored how they could be integrated into the legislative framework. The revised Principles update guidance on transparency, management responsibilities and governance changes linked to technological developments in capital markets, and include expanded references to sustainability and climate-related risks.
