The National Bank of Moldova announced that Mihnea Constantinescu has been appointed as vice-governor and a member of the National Bank of Moldova’s Executive Committee by a decision of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. Constantinescu, born in 1981 in Bucharest, holds an engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Romania, a master’s in advanced finance studies from the University of Zurich and ETH, and a PhD in economics from the University of Zurich. He has more than 18 years of professional experience, including over 10 years in central banks, with senior research roles at the Bank of Lithuania (2014–2018) and the National Bank of Ukraine (2019–2024), and served as adviser to the National Bank of Moldova governor from April 2024 until his appointment.
