The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs published a statement from Ranking Member Senator Elizabeth Warren after FanDuel announced it will no longer accept credit cards for sports bets, joining DraftKings, following her oversight into credit card “junk fees” charged on betting transactions. Warren argued that the move means credit card companies will no longer be able to charge these fees across the majority of the sports betting market, citing charges that can reach USD 10 to fund a USD 20 bet, and urged the rest of the industry to adopt the same restriction.
