The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) issued a public warning on unlicensed banking or financial activities and asked individuals and entities to report suspected cases, setting up dedicated channels to receive information from the public. The alert targets activities conducted by natural persons or legal entities that carry out banking or financial transactions without valid licences and outside supervision by a competent authority. CBK highlighted the risk that such transactions could be exploited for money laundering and terrorist financing, and pointed to potential financial losses for the public and adverse repercussions for Kuwait’s economy.
