Croatia's Ministry of Finance announced that a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Marko Primorac, including officials from the Ministry and the Croatian National Bank, is participating in the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings in Washington, DC from 21 to 26 April 2025. The programme includes bilateral meetings focused on World Bank Group engagement in Croatia and IMF discussions on the macroeconomic outlook and the policy stance. Planned meetings with the World Bank Group include discussions with Antonella Bassani, Akihiko Nishio, Alfonso Garcia Mora of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and World Bank Executive Director Eugene Rhuggenaath, covering existing cooperation and future World Bank Group activities in Croatia. Sessions with the IMF are expected to involve European Department Director Alfred Kammer, IMF Executive Director Jeroen Clicq, and Croatia mission chief Yan Sun, with talks centred on macroeconomic conditions and monetary and fiscal policy measures, alongside exchanges on geopolitics, global economic challenges and responses, green transition plans, and the Spring Meetings theme of job creation, particularly in developing countries. During the Washington visit, the delegation will also participate in its World Bank and IMF constituency meeting.
