The Philippine Insurance Commission published its assessment of the pre-need industry’s 2025 performance, reporting growth in capital, assets and profitability despite a decline in the number of licensed companies under tighter regulatory oversight. Total net worth rose 21.04% to PHP 33.87 billion, total assets increased 8.19% to PHP 178.20 billion and net income climbed 54.40% to PHP 7.96 billion. The industry recorded a PHP 16.03 billion surplus over required reserves, up 62.62% from 2024, with trust fund investments sufficient to cover pre-need reserves and benefits payable. Premium income increased 5.73% to PHP 23.94 billion, while plan sales rose 28.02% to 895,679, with life and memorial products accounting for 99.84% of sales.
