The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) reported that Governor Ahmet Ismaili met a Swiss National Bank (SNB) delegation led by Governing Board Chair Martin Schlegel during the 2025 International Monetary Fund and World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C., to discuss possible areas for institutional cooperation. Ismaili briefed Schlegel on recent financial-sector developments and reforms aimed at alignment with the European Union legal framework, including progress toward joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and work to modernise the fast payments system. The discussions covered potential collaboration on managing international reserves, exchanging experience on financial stability, and other areas of mutual interest, with Schlegel indicating willingness to consider such cooperation. CBK added that its delegation plans further bilateral meetings with counterparts from partner central banks during its stay in the United States.
