Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users reported 1,741 complaints in Zacatecas from January through August 2026, down 1% from the previous year and equal to 0.9% of complaints nationwide. Concluded cases recovered MXN 7.9 million for users, while 50.7% of complaint outcomes were favorable to users. Commercial banks accounted for 69.9% of complaints, followed by insurers at 9% and credit information companies at 8.3%. Credit cards, debit cards, mobile banking and payroll accounts generated 76.1% of complaints. Within commercial banking, unrecognized purchases, unprocessed cancellation requests and unrecognized electronic transfers represented 42.3% of cases, while 28.7% of all complaints in the state involved possible fraud.
