The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs released a summary of Chairman Tim Scott’s Fox Business interview covering the committee’s housing package, oversight of Federal Reserve facilities spending, and proposed digital asset market structure legislation. The committee unanimously advanced the Renewing Opportunity in the American Dream (ROAD) to Housing Act of 2025 on 29 July 2025 following what it described as the first bipartisan housing markup in over a decade, positioning the bill as comprehensive legislation to expand and preserve housing supply, improve affordability, and increase oversight and efficiency of federal regulators and housing programs. Scott also highlighted his oversight of Federal Reserve renovations, referencing a tour with President Trump, White House officials, and Chair Jerome Powell and characterising the project as more than 25% over budget and costing “hundreds of millions of dollars,” including features such as a “beehive garden.” On digital assets, he pointed to a discussion draft of market structure legislation intended to provide regulatory clarity and support U.S.-based innovation in a “multi-trillion dollar” industry.
