The Hong Kong Monetary Authority published Hong Kong’s latest foreign currency reserve assets figures, reporting official reserves of USD 416.4 billion at the end of February 2025, down from USD 421.5 billion at end-January 2025. Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the reserve assets totalled USD 415.9 billion (end-January 2025: USD 421.5 billion). The USD 416.4 billion in total reserve assets represented over five times the currency in circulation or about 38% of Hong Kong dollar M3. The HKMA also set out its monthly Exchange Fund data release cycle, comprising four press releases, including three issued under the International Monetary Fund’s Special Data Dissemination Standard. The remaining March 2025 release dates listed were 14 March (Analytical Accounts of the Exchange Fund) and 31 March (SDDS Template on International Reserves and Foreign Currency Liquidity, and the Exchange Fund Abridged Balance Sheet and Currency Board Account).

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority reported a decrease in Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets to USD 416.4 billion at the end of February 2025, down from USD 421.5 billion in January. Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the reserves totalled USD 415.9 billion.
