The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) held its third working meeting on the proposed regulatory framework for FALs, which is already under public consultation. The framework would establish FALs as a mechanism for meeting obligations arising from the termination of employment relationships through ring-fenced assets funded by employer contributions. The proposal would allow FALs to operate through publicly offered financial trusts or open-ended mutual funds under CNV supervision. It would create a PIC FAL regime covering both types of vehicle and require their resources to come exclusively from contributions made under the regime. More than 90 representatives of settlement and clearing agents, management companies, trustees and industry associations attended the meeting.
