The National Bank of Hungary has published the September issue of its Financial and Economic Review, featuring research on the links between monetary stability and national security in Poland, structural inflation in India, environmentally conscious consumer behavior and green finance, and the development of sustainable finance. The issue also examines the growing role of international financial centers in a multipolar global system. One study links Poland’s historical reliance on gold to recurring monetary and geopolitical vulnerabilities. Research covering India from 1955 to 2024 identifies fiscal deficits, agricultural market distortions and entrenched expectations as drivers of persistent inflation, while finding that the adoption of inflation targeting in 2014 significantly changed inflation’s level and volatility. Bibliometric studies highlight climate finance literacy and the gap between environmental attitudes and behavior as challenges for green finance, and map the development of sustainable finance research across 4,436 publications.
