Norway's Ministry of Finance has sent a mandate letter to the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway (Finanstilsynet) asking it to examine fund management companies’ access to information held in the National Population Register (Folkeregisteret). The work is positioned as a follow-up to the ministry’s ongoing rulemaking on investment funds, informed by input from the industry and recent meetings with market representatives. Finanstilsynet has been asked to deliver a draft consultation paper on the National Population Register access issue as soon as possible.
