Argentina's Ministry of Finance announced a citizenship by investment program that will begin accepting applications in the fourth quarter of 2026. A principal applicant may make a nonrefundable USD 350,000 contribution to the National Treasury or subscribe to a specially created USD 800,000 government security. Spouses and children may also apply with documented proof of their relationship to the principal applicant. Spouses and unmarried children ages 18 to 25 without children must contribute USD 100,000 each, while applicants under 18 must contribute USD 25,000. A family consisting of a principal applicant, spouse and two minor children could therefore apply for USD 500,000. All funds must pass through the formal financial system and meet applicable anti-money laundering, counterterrorist financing and financial transparency standards. The Citizenship by Investment Programs Agency will lead checks covering identity, source of funds, financial position, jurisdictional risk, criminal and reputational records, and immigration history, with input from intelligence, financial intelligence, security and interior authorities. The agency will recommend whether applications should be accepted or rejected, with the National Directorate of Migration making the final decision.
