The National Bank of Serbia published third-quarter 2024 statistics for its IPS NBS instant payment system, reporting continued growth in both transaction volumes and values. The system processed 21.7 million payments worth RSD 270.9 billion, up 29.5% and 46.4% respectively from the same quarter of 2023, and also higher than the second quarter of 2024 (volumes up 2.9% and value up 9.1%). Average transaction value was around RSD 12,492 and the average daily number of payments reached 235,732, more than 53,000 above the third quarter of 2023. Two additional payment service providers enabled the Transfer service, increasing the total number of providers offering it to 13; the IPS NBS system also supports bill payments via IPS QR codes, payments at physical and online points of sale through IPS Scan and IPS Show (including an online IPS Scan option using deep-link technology, provided by 15 banks at the time of publication), QR code generator and validator tools, and eGovernment ePlati payments for fees and charges of the Ministry of the Interior and the Tax Administration.
