The Islamic Development Bank Group announced that Chairman Muhammad Al Jasser will lead a delegation to Bangladesh from Sept. 2 to 4, 2026, with a major energy-sector financing agreement scheduled to be signed during the visit. The delegation will meet Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and senior government officials responsible for finance, planning, energy and transport. Discussions will cover energy security, resilient infrastructure, transport connectivity, trade finance and private-sector growth. The parties will also review the Islamic Development Bank Group’s existing Bangladesh portfolio and consider future cooperation aligned with the country’s development priorities.
