The U.S. House Committee on Financial Services, led by Chairman French Hill, Financial Institutions Subcommittee Chairman Andy Barr and all subcommittee members, sent a letter to Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman urging the Federal Reserve to improve the timeliness and efficiency of its review of bank merger and acquisition applications by implementing the Office of Inspector General’s recommendations, reviewing long-pending applications and expanding use of delegated authority to streamline the process.
