The Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam (BDCB) has announced that its new Family Banknotes Series will be available through local banks from 9 March 2026, with distribution subject to stock and availability. The series comprises BND1, BND5, BND10, BND100 and BND500 notes and includes enhanced security features intended to strengthen currency integrity and deter counterfeiting. BDCB also confirmed that all existing banknotes will remain legal tender and continue circulating alongside the new series.
