Lithuania’s Ministry of Finance announced that Minister of Finance Kristupas Vaitiekunas and ILTE Chief Executive Officer Dainius Vilcinskas signed memoranda of cooperation with the European Investment Fund (EIF) and the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) in Luxembourg to strengthen ILTE’s risk management using international expertise. Under the memoranda, EIF and ESM risk management experts are expected to be seconded to the Advisory Risk Management Committee established by ILTE’s Supervisory Board, with the aim of reinforcing ILTE’s institutional structure and risk management practices. The Ministry linked the initiative to its broader programme to strengthen ILTE through governance, professional supervision and international standards, and noted ILTE is undergoing an active transformation into a national development bank.
