The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) announced that its fifth Plenary under the Mexican Presidency of Elisa de Anda Madrazo will be held in Mexico City on 11–13 February, concluding FATF Week running from 9 February, with representatives from across the FATF Global Network expected to attend. The agenda is expected to include discussion of the mutual evaluation reports of Austria, Italy and Singapore, covering the effectiveness of national measures against money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing and compliance with the FATF Recommendations. The Plenary will also consider work on evolving illicit finance threats, technological innovation to combat crime, and the FATF’s list of jurisdictions under increased monitoring. Nigeria and Jamaica will participate under the FSRB Guest Initiative, aimed at broadening regional perspectives. A summary of Plenary outcomes will be published on the FATF website after the meetings conclude.
