Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) participated in the China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Forum in Nanning, China on 18 September 2025, with Managing Director Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Rashidah binti Haji Sabtu leading the delegation and delivering a keynote address. The keynote highlighted Brunei Darussalam’s digital transformation agenda and the ASEAN region’s focus on facilitating cross-border payment linkages with key economic partners, including China. The forum, themed “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Development and Financial Innovation in the Context of China-ASEAN Cooperation”, was organised by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the China Society for Finance and Banking and the Asian Financial Cooperation Association. Senior BDCB officers also attended a roundtable discussion on strengthening China-ASEAN financial market cooperation, covering cross-border payments, sustainable finance and anti-money laundering.
