South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance convened an interagency task force to assess the effects of the court’s approval of Homeplus’s rehabilitation plan and review assistance for workers and suppliers. The government will monitor implementation of the plan and continue support for workers’ livelihoods and suppliers’ business stability, while stakeholders were urged to secure a stable operating base for the retailer. From the opening of rehabilitation proceedings on March 4, 2025, through Sept. 1, 2026, workers received KRW 41 billion in unemployment benefits and substitute wage payments across 27,739 cases, along with KRW 42 billion in livelihood and wage-arrears loans across 9,110 cases. Suppliers have access to KRW 440 billion in emergency liquidity programs, comprising KRW 90 billion in stabilization funds and KRW 350 billion in special guarantees. Actual support included KRW 17.1 billion in stabilization funding and KRW 66.2 billion in guarantees, while banks provided KRW 5.6 trillion in maturity extensions and repayment deferrals and KRW 43.6 billion in new emergency loans.

South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance reviewed support for Homeplus workers and suppliers following court approval of the retailer’s rehabilitation plan. Assistance has included KRW 83 billion in worker benefits and loans, alongside supplier funding, guarantees and KRW 5.6 trillion in bank maturity extensions and repayment deferrals. The government will continue monitoring the plan and providing support.
