The Palau Financial Institutions Commission completed a three-day capacity-building program focused on strengthening its bank supervision and examination practices. The training linked off-site monitoring of quarterly prudential returns with risk-based planning and scoping for on-site examinations. Participants mapped quarterly monitoring workflows to support the development of standard operating procedures covering data validation, documentation, escalation and internal review. They also developed preliminary analytical tools to help prioritize supervisory attention and recommended steps to improve the accuracy of periodic regulatory reporting and related monitoring outputs.
