The Republic of Serbia Securities Commission participated in a World Bank forum on how financial reporting, accounting and auditing can improve access to finance, investment and economic growth. Chairman Marko Janković and Chief Audit Controller Radivoje Petrović focused in particular on strengthening independent public audit oversight and the quality of financial reporting in Serbia, continuing the Commission’s regional engagement on audit oversight reforms. Discussions covered quality inspections, enforcement, risk based supervision, audit market monitoring and responses to recurring inspection findings. Participants also considered preparations for sustainability reporting assurance, the use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, financing for small and medium sized enterprises and financial transparency at state owned enterprises.
