The State Bank of Pakistan has launched the second cohort of its regulatory sandbox, allowing individuals and firms to test solutions involving artificial intelligence in financial services, payment innovations, technology enabled inward remittances and other next generation financial services. Only proposals within these four themes will be considered. Applications are open until Nov. 30, 2026. The initiative follows the first cohort, which ran from August 2025 to June 2026, and is intended to help the central bank adapt its regulatory framework to emerging technologies while addressing consumer protection and financial stability.
